An integrated approach to build a equitable and empowered society
Sustainable and holistic transformation of the poor and the marginalized for the creation of a just and fair society.
To empower the poorest to create livelihoods, boost income and inspire permanent change
One of the main objectives of our SWEET Trust is to promote economic empowerment among the rural women masses. For promoting it, our organization makes them achieve themselves through the locally based available resources and collective efforts. We have conducted a special Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDP) on Skill Development Training for unemployed women in our working area. Resource persons from the reputed training centers were provided the sessions on locally based Income generation trades like Garland Making, Hollow Block Bricks Making, Animal rearing, Tea Shop, Rural Petty Shop, etc.,
This helped to improve their skills and establish their trade in this activity in the future. Over 165 women in the working area attended this EDP & Skill Development training for about 3 days and they have developed their skills and entrepreneurial activities.
We conducted extensive research into the viability of our third enterprise, goat farming, known locally as ‘Goateries’. Goats are greatly valued by the poor in Tamil Nadu and fetch high prices at the market. We designed a model that allowed our farmers to become self-sufficient by breeding and selling goats.
SPARSH Leprosy Awareness Program
In association with the District Health Department, we organized a special program on the SPARSH Leprosy Awareness Program for rural people in our training hall, Rasingapuram. This program is organized under the National Leprosy Eradication Plan (NLEP) in Theni District.

Over 50 more public and women benefited from this program.

Considering the aforesaid concepts, the farmers in the villages in Bodinayakkanur block have been organized and trained on the following subjects to make organic farming a successful farming system.
A demo pit was created by the resource person who explained how to select the vermin, maintenance of compost pit, procure the vermin manure, apply it to the farm field, and the importance of vermin compost, etc., Over 50 more farmers and women are benefited by this program.
